The existing Dubai World Trade Centre has been the business centre of one of the most progressive cities within the Middle East. It is currently a control landmark for Dubai.

At the beginning of 2005 DWTC decided to move off their exhibition facility to the airport site North West of the current city centre and improve the convention and conference facility within the existing central site. In doing so, they will provide a state of the art facility within the heart of the business community and improve their Grade A rating for meetings.

In addition to the Congress and Conferencing Facility, the new centre will also have a 10,000 - 12,000 seat arena which will host both cultural and popular entertainment shows as well as family and sports events. It will also provide an overflow facility to the conferencing use and as a further element to its multi-purpose, it can be configured into an exhibition hall.
