When designing the Iowa Events Center, the revitalization of downtown Des Moines was a top priority. The design incorporates the half-century-old Veterans Memorial Auditorium with two new state-of-the-art facilities: Wells Fargo Arena and Hy-Vee Exhibition Hall.
The Hy-Vee Exhibition Hall hosts a variety of trade shows, conventions, exhibits, banquets and events while the Wells Fargo Arena hosts all forms of indoor sports and live entertainment. The street level includes meeting room space, as well as the Iowa Hall of Pride, an interactive center that highlights the people and places of the state.
