The convention center adjacent to the MGM Grand Hotel was part of a master plan to revitalize the family-oriented theme park into a business and leisure destination. Working closely with MGM representatives and the project construction manager, we developed a 380,000-square-foot program.
The design places the exhibit hall on grade with lobby/pre-function toward the west side and loading docks and service/storage on the site's east side. The ballroom is located on the third level and meeting rooms are located on all three levels. The lobby/pre-function area connects to the hotel/casino and offers views to pool area.
